Who am I

Kerrod is a contemporary movement artist and multidisciplinary practitioner. Kerrod graduated with Distinction with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance Performance) from QUT in Brisbane. Kerrod has performed with a range of dance companies and collectives including: Colossus with Stephanie Lake Company (2024), Opera Australia premiere of The Ring Cycle (2023), and Leviathan with Circa Contemporary Circus (2020).Kerrod has performed for esteemed choreographers including Stephanie Lake and Akasia Ruthy.

Whether Kerrod is choreographing, performing, or just brainstorming, he strives to express new and innovative ideas out to the contemporary society. He loves the opportunities that contemporary dance gives him, pushing boundaries of body limitations, creating innovative intricacies in movement, and evolving the power to express feeling/story through movement. There is also a level of freedom with contemporary dance for not only the dancer but also the choreographer and audience. He truly loves the inventiveness involved; it is the polar opposite to typical ballet technique training, although very useful.

Whether it be visual art, drama, technology, photography, circus, or anything in-between, he will continue to develop and perfect his discipline as a multidisciplinary practitioner.
